The Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH (HTAI) is the economic development agency of the state of Hesse. It is responsible for the sustainable development of the  business and technology hub of Hessen, with the aim of reinforcing and improving its competitiveness. The services are aimed at innovation and technology-oriented businesses from Hesse, as well as Hessian companies that want to expand abroad or develop their existing international business.

The database from Hessen Trade & Invest allows investors to include individual criteria in their location search and gives an overview of available sites and location characteristics in Hessen. In addition, the location of each business site and of every city and community in Hessen can be visualised in zoomable maps.

The members of the association "Die Wirtschaftspaten e.V." (business mentors) are former entrepreneurs and managers from companies in the industrial, retail and services sectors. They offer their experience, expertise and advice in a range of areas, including the founding of a new business, the development and strengthening of small and medium-sized businesses and company succession.

The Expert Start-up Consultancy Network (Kompetenznetz Gründungsberatung) for the Darmstadt Rhine Main Neckar region is a voluntary joint venture between expert entrepreneurs from the local region. They operate in the fields of self-employment and start-ups, as well as company succession.  The Consultancy Network organises an annual "Start-up Day".
