The idea to create the position of a point of single contact originates from the European Union: Bureaucratic barriers, which have to be overcome by the self-employed persons, entrepreneurs and freelancers while going through administrative processes, should be eliminated by all member states of the European Union...
...through the following measures:
- Establishment of points of single contact for the coordination of the procedures
- Applications made electronically via internet
- Simplification of national legislation
- Applications are classified in general as approved, if the authorities do not respond within a stipulated period
Hessen has established points of single contact at the three regional councils (Regierungspräsidium) in Darmstadt, Gießen, and Kassel:
Monday-Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm
Friday 8:00am –12:00pm
(The service hours only relate to personal contact with the point of single contact and the handling of technical error messages. The online application can be used around the clock)
